I’m also retired Amtrak, and I have an interest in all modes of transportation as well as railroading. My last job was as Jacksonville Transportation Examiner. That ended on good terms December 31, 2010.
I continue to write about transportation topics, but now as a freelance journalist for various online and print e-zines and magazines as well as my new blog, Florida Transportation Today at http://floridatransportationtoday.typepad.com/). The first articles appeared Monday, January 3. I shall also post photos on Twitter (look for “Florda Transport.”) Yes, Florida is misspelled, but that’s all Twitter would accept because of line length restrictions.
My book, to be published in 2011 by Carstens Publications in New Jersey, chronicles the story of how Amtrak’s Acela Express trainsets came to be, and the electrification project between Boston and New Haven, Conn. Its working title is Acela Express: the book, but that may not be the final, published title.
I continue to welcome press releases from transportation media people. My e-mail address is email@example.com.
I wish you well for a terrific 2011.
Happy New Year.
